KryptoQuiet bearings were specifically developed for slower shaft speeds. Modern marine diesel engines now produce over 2600 hp and boats that idle at 10 knots. The use of trolling valves helps reduces shaft speed to get down to trolling speed which often cause traditional marine bearings to omit an undesirable whine noise.
All water lubricated bearings are the same at running speed.... yep, I said it. We all utilized the same hydrodynamic wedge used in machinery of all types. A thin film of water supports the shaft when running at speed, our design engineers focused on the performance of KryptoQuiet at slow speeds, because no one catches fish at 46 knots!

Yeah, that is right! The material has also gone through rigorous testing with the US Army of Engineers and exceeded and outperformed all previously tested bearing products tested for hydroelectric applications.
